CRAZY RIDE TO LAHAUL SPITI

A 7 Nights / 8 days motor bike tour including unlimited fun & challenge to one of the remotest regions of Himachal Pradesh, viz Kinnaur & Spiti valley. It involves visiting remote valleys, villages and crossing over high mountain passes Rohtang Pass (3980 m) & Kunzum Pass (4550 m) providing spectacular views of picturesque snow capped peaks, rugged terrain and old monasteries. The tour ends in Manali with stay at Camps & Home Stays at he highest village of Asia .

 

Start your trip from Manali. Gather at Manali by the afternoon and we are ready for this exciting, adventurous trip of life time.

TOUR ITINERARY

 

DAY 01

Manali – Naggar / Solang Valley

Arrive Manali & check in at hotel. Time to fresh ‘n’ up & have some rest. Assemble at Motorbike garage at 2 PM for a small briefing about the tour. Today we take you on acclimatization ride to Naggar village or Solang Valley after lunch. A 35-40km Drive so as to get familiar with the mountain biking. Return back to Manali & spend the rest of evening at leisure or last minute purchases in the market. Overnight at hotel with Dinner. 


DAY 02

Manali – Chandertal (Approx 155kms, 8hrs)

Today early in the morning we leave for Chandertal Lake, crossing Rohtang Pass which is at a height of 3,979 mtrs and then meandering our way down to Gramphu. From Gramphu we ride along the Chandra river. From Gramphu to Chandertal Lake it’s a dirt road but very scenic providing views of Bara Shigri Glacier and CB ranges. Our first stoppage would be at Chatru for Breakfast & then move to Batal. Lunch at Batal & then 14km more to Chandertal. On arrival check in at camp at lake side of Chandertal Lake also known as “The Moon Lake” at the height of 4270 mtrs. Overnight at camp with dinner.

 

DAY 03

Chandertal - Kaza (Approx 120kms, 6hrs)

Wake up early in the morning and witness the beauty of nature along the lake side an exquisite beauty between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range. Enjoy the charming scenery and after breakfast ride your Royal Enfield bikes climbing over Kunzum Pass (4558 m) and passing some beautiful villages of Spiti valley we move to Kaza, headquarter of Spiti. Lunch at Losar on the way to Kaza. On arrival in Kaza check in at hotel, spend the rest of evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel with dinner. 

 

DAY 04

Kaza – Kay – Kibber – Langza – Komic - Kaza (Approx 85kms, 6hrs)

Morning breakfast at Kaza & then visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Lunch at Kibber at 4205 m & has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Then move on to Komic via Langza. Langza village situated at an altitude of 4400 mtrs. The village is adorned by an ancient temple estimated to be around 1000 years old. After Langza move to Komic situated at an altitude of 4513 mtrs, one of the highest villages in Asia. At Komic you will witness the wonderful landscapes of Spiti. Now ride back to Kaza, stay in hotel with dinner.

 

Day 05

Kaza- Dhankar – Tabo - Gui – Nako (Approx 120kms, 6hrs)

Today after breakfast at Kaza you proceed for Dhankar Village which was capial for Spiti Valley earlier days, situated on the left bank of the Spiti river, at an altitude of 3870 m. Reach Dhankar, visit Dhankar Monastery; This Monastery at Dhankar rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. Now we move for Tabo 31km from Dhankar, Tabo situated on the left bank of the Spiti river at an altitude of 10004 feet. The biggest attraction of this village, for that matter of the whole valley, is the Tabo monastery. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas. Then we move to off road village Gui, there is a Mummy preserved in Gui, said to be the Mummy of a Lama. After visiting the Gui move to Nako Village. Overnight in camp/hotel with dinner. 

 

DAY 06

Nako – Pooh – Sangla - Chitkul (Approx 209kms, 5hrs)

Today after breakfast you will proceed for Chitkul enroute visiting confluence of Satluj & Spiti. After a small stay at Pooh we further continue our journey to Sangla. The valley is surrounded by forested slopes and offers views of the high mountains. Its location in the greater Himalayan range gives it a milder climate than the plains. After a small stay at Sangla, we move further to Chitkul. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. Chitkul, on the banks of Baspa River, is the first village of the Baspa Valley and the last village on the old Hindustan-Tibet trade route. It is also the last point in India one can travel to without a permit. Of particular interest at Chitkul are its houses with either slate or wooden plank roofs, a Buddhist temple and a small tower. Overnight stay in hotel with dinner.

 

DAY 07

Chitkul – Rampur – Shoja (Approx 200kms, 6hrs)

Today after breakfast you will proceed for Shoja. Located in Seraj valley, Shoja is a breathtakingly beautiful place. The mornings in Shoja are particularly invigorating. One can just stroll around, walk up to the meadows or perhaps take the pathway into the jungle. Nature lovers can enjoy thick wooded hill slopes starting from bottom as far down or up or sideways or deep as one can look. Overnight in hotel with dinner. 

 

DAY 08

Shoja – Manali (Approx 110kms, 3hrs)

Next day after Breakfast we move to Manali. Reach Manali before 12 & you are free to move back to Chandigarh/Delhi. Tour Ends !!

The trip starts from Manali, you will have to reach Manali at your own cost. Luxury Night Buses are easily available from Chandigarh & Delhi.The same transfer can be provided by us but on extra cost, please ask for the same with your boarding point.
